OPERA: Harmonizing Task-Oriented Dialogs and Information Seeking Experience
نویسندگان
چکیده
Existing studies in conversational AI mostly treat task-oriented dialog (TOD) and question answering (QA) as separate tasks. Towards the goal of constructing a agent that can complete user tasks support information seeking, it is important to develop system handle both TOD QA with access various external knowledge sources. In this work, we propose new task, Open-Book (OB-TOD), which combines expands sources include explicit (e.g., web) implicit pre-trained language models). We create dataset OB-MultiWOZ, where enrich sessions QA-like information-seeking experience grounded on knowledge. unified model OPERA ( Op en-book E nd-to-end Task-o r iented Di log) appropriately tackle OB-TOD task. Experimental results show outperforms closed-book baselines, highlighting value types

Measuring Personality Adaptation in Task-Oriented Dialogs
Decades of research on human communication provides substantial evidence that human conversants in dialogue adjust their language to their conversational partner: conversants adapt to particular ways of referring to things (Brennan and Clark, 1996), mimic the partner’s lexical diversity (Coupland et al., 1988) and entrain to their vocabulary choices (Parent and Eskenazi, 2010). For example, for...
متن کاملEmotion Detection in Task-oriented Spoken Dialogs
Detecting emotions in the context of automated call center services can be helpful for following the evolution of the human-computer dialogs, enabling dynamic modification of the dialog strategies and influencing the final outcome. The emotion detection work reported here is a part of larger study aiming to model user behavior in real interactions. We make use of a corpus of real agent-client s...
متن کاملKolline: a task-oriented system for collaborative information seeking
This paper presents results of an exploratory study which observed Linux novice users performing complex technical tasks using Google’s search engine. In this study we observed that information triage is a difficult process for unexperienced users unless well structured information is provided which results in better satisfaction and search effectiveness. Providing a well structured information...
متن کاملQuantitative Analysis of Prosody in Task-Oriented Dialogs
The current paper reports first results from the analysis of task-oriented dialogs using a Fujisaki model based parameterization of F0 contours. Two versions of map task style dialogs were examined: (1) the recordings made during the map task proper, (2) readings from scripts of the original dialog by the same speakers. In the scope of this paper an analysis of phrase boundaries with respect to...
متن کاملFactors Affecting Speaking-Rate Adaptation in Task-Oriented Dialogs
Dialog systems should be able to automatically determine an appropriate speaking rate for each utterance. In a small corpus of billing support dialogs we identified factors accounting for 18% of the variation in agent speaking rate. Simple adaptation to the user accounts for little, rather it is the dialog state and dialog acts in the local context which seem to matter more. 1
